Welcome
to the Blogger site of Louise Blouin Media, a platform for posts about the art
publishing company of entrepreneur Louise Blouin as well as the global art
scene in general. Louise Blouin Media was established for the promotion of the arts,
lifestyle, travel, culture and international news. Later named Blouin Corp, the
company reaches a sophisticated global audience, bringing market news and
details of the latest cultural events as well as information about technology,
science, business and politics.
For
fifteen years prior to establishing Louise Blouin Media, Louise Blouin was
co-CEO and founding partner of the leading classified advertising business
Trader Classified Media. In that role, Blouin led a team of some 7,000 international
employees, producing more than 400 publications through 70 companies and
developing 60 internet sites – all done on a global scale across 20 countries
in Eastern Europe, North America, Australia and Russia. She left that firm in
2000, and in 2003, she established Louise Blouin Media.
Currently
being rebranded as BlouinArtinfo Corp, the company focuses on a targeted
audience of respected tastemakers and sophisticated influencers, bringing
non-stop global coverage of lifestyle, luxury and the arts across all mediums
from a multitude of creative talents. The company partners with more than
20,000 institutions worldwide, including art galleries, museums, art fairs,
biennials, auction houses and more. The company’s coverage includes print and
digital media as well as leadership summits, sponsorships, lectures and events.
The
Louise Blouin Foundation, the philanthropic organisation created in parallel
with Louise Blouin Media, has
one of the biggest cultural spaces in London operating on a not-for-profit
basis and without government funding. Exhibitions are featured regularly at the
Foundation from both renowned and emerging artists, and the Foundation also
organises a packed programme of events and lectures relating to arts and
culture. The Foundation was initially launched in Manhattan at the Nomadic
museum before being opened in the Holland Park area of London.
The
Canadian-born Blouin has become known as a dominant presence in the world of
art publishing, with some 90 titles under ownership. These publications have
long been recognised as authoritative voices within the international art
world.
